Salutations fellow Durbies! As I sit here writing this, I realised we are almost at the end of another year. Again. Another month full of running and social activities have passed. Which brings us so much closer to the end of the year. Only another 5 or so weeks until Christmas! Can you believe it!? But first, let's Movember.
There are so many charities and events happening around this movement every year. It is difficult not to notice all the 'staches popping up everywhere.
Now, all fun and games aside. Gents, from all of us that love you guys - family, friends, work colleagues, running mates and pets - please go get yourselves checked. Yes we talk about it a lot, asking everyone if they are taking part or growing a 'mo. But we won't be changing anything or making a difference if we don't act.
All you have to do is type in Movember in your search bar, and you will find a myriad of websites and information on where and how to get checked, and get involved. So let's make this the year of action, together.
Are you Movembering this year? Please send us your pics - we would love to see! email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to Mo-ing with you in Movember.

Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter (Swedish: plocka upp). It started as an organised activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution. As a workout, it provides variation in body movements by adding bending, squatting and stretching to the main action of running.
So why not try plogging the next time you hit the road/trails. Together we can keep our trails and roads clean and beautiful, and get a full body workout!
MEMBERSHIP FEES FOR 2019 - The 2019 club fees were agreed and ratified at the 2018 AGM. With ASA license fees included, the following will be due for all Durbac members in 2019: Senior: R360 (including R140 ASA license fee) Junior (19 years and younger): R107 (including R30 ASA license fee)
For this fee, you get to belong to a dynamic and energetic club that offers its members a lot! You can participate in road, trail and cross-country arranged pack runs and events. You will have the company of like-minded friendly and funny athletes, participants and sometimes even some well-meaning reprobates. The club members enjoy socialising, especially at Member of the Month evenings. And to make sure no opportunity to get together and have a jolly time is lost, the Pub Run, Yearly Awards Evening, Comrades send off and The New Members Evening is arranged as well. And of course, no club run, pack run, or race is complete without some Durbies hanging around and talking about their exploits, supporting each other. Or making fun of each other. A club with real people and real gees.
FLOATING TROPHIES - All floating trophy winners who received floating trophies at the prize giving must please return them to Lorraine Rogers or Luzanne le Roux, by end December.
CLUB STANDARDS - Members need to submit their club standard forms by end December (Lorraine Rogers: email@example.com). Please also notify your captains of club standards and captains' challenges that don't reflect yet (Luzanne le Roux: firstname.lastname@example.org).
ILLEGAL SUBSTITUTIONS - As per the WPA/ASA rules and regulations, we would just like to remind all members that you are not allowed to substitute for a runner or run in the place of a runner unless the substitution has followed the necessary substitution process for that particular race. DURBAC does not condone or support illegal race substitutions. If you can't do a race for whatever reason, you can not give your race number over to someone else in your club, other club members or even a temp runner. You must follow the right channels in substituting for the specific race, if they allow substitutions.
